Language Science Fair talk at Planet Word
On May 10th I gave a short public-facing talk at the first ever Language Science Fair at Planet Word in Washington DC - thanks to the Language Science Station for organizing an excellent event!

As a person from New Jersey who now lives in DC, I do not have strong opinions about how “Nevada” is pronounced - but Nevadans sure do! I’m quoted a few times in this fun Atlas Obscura piece on the sociolinguistics of this perennial debate.
New blog: From the DUS Desk
As the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) in the Georgetown University Department of Linguistics, I help guide undergraduates through our Linguistics program and regularly draw their attention to jobs and other opportunities for LING majors.
